Cookie Policy

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — and to work correctly across page loads.
We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session tokens, which work in a comparable way.
How we use cookies
Busby uses cookies in three categories:
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for Busby to function. They cannot be disabled. They do not track you for marketing purposes.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __clerk_* | Clerk | Authentication session — keeps you logged in | Session / 1 year |
| __session | Busby | Server-side session identifier | Session |
| __stripe_mid | Stripe | Fraud detection for payment processing | 1 year |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe | Fraud detection session token | 30 minutes |
Functional
These cookies remember your preferences to improve your experience. They are set only when you use related features.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| busby_theme | Busby | Remembers your light/dark mode preference | 1 year |
| busby_billing | Busby | Remembers your monthly/annual billing toggle preference | 30 days |
Analytics
We do not currently use any third-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics). If we introduce analytics in future we will update this policy and obtain your consent where required.
Email tracking
Emails sent from Busby on your behalf (to your leads and contacts) may include a tracking pixel and click-tracking links. These allow you to see open rates and click-through rates in your Busby dashboard. Your leads can opt out of tracking by unsubscribing via the link in every email.
Third-party cookies
When you connect your Google Ads or Meta account, those platforms may set their own cookies in your browser. These are governed by Google's and Meta's own privacy and cookie policies, not ours.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent Busby from working correctly — you will not be able to stay logged in.
